Saturday's contests postponed until Sunday due to poor field conditions
NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University women's soccer, men's soccer, and field hockey contests scheduled for Saturday have been postponed due to poor field conditions. The games have been rescheduled for Sunday at Gaudet Field in Middletown, R.I.
The women's soccer team will take on the University of New England at 1 p.m., while the men's soccer team will also play UNE starting at 3:30 p.m.
The field hockey team will battle Western New England University in the final contest of the day beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Fans planning to attend the events should be aware of the follwing road restrictions which will be in place due to the Amica Marathon.
* The eastbound section of Memorial Boulevard, will be closed from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
* Newport roads will be affected from 8 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. These include Annandale Road, Narragansett Avenue, Wellington, Fort Adams Drive, and Ocean, Bellevue and Ruggles avenues.
* Middletown roads will be affected from 9:20 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. These include Purgatory Road, Tuckerman Avenue, Sachuest Point Road, Hanging Rock Road and Indian Avenue.
