National Girls and Women in Sports Day

NEWPORT, R.I. - In recognition of the 26th Annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD), Salve Regina University will host a reception and halftime ceremony to honor the school's 37 senior female athletes on Saturday, January 28, 2011.

Established in 1987, National Girls & Women in Sports Day calls attention to the positive influence of sports and fitness participation for all girls and women, and seeks to advance the struggle for equality and access for women in sports.
