Seahawk field hockey collecting clothes for Salvation Army through Dec. 9

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University field hockey team is sponsoring a clothing drive to raise donations for the Salvation Army from Monday, November 28 through Friday, December 9. Clothing is being collected outside of the fitness center on the first floor of the Rodgers Recreation Center and in the lobby of the O'Hare Academic Center.

Salvation Army All proceeds will help fund the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Program, which provides substance abusers and others struggling with various forms of life issues with the necessary tools to re-enter society and live productive lives. Clothing is accepted for all ages.

"This is a wonderful organization that my entire team is very excited to be involved with," said Seahawks head coach Jennifer Eldridge. "Volunteering to help the Salvation Army and giving back to the community and those less fortunate is right in line with the University's mission statement and the beliefs of the Sisters of Mercy. Our team is really hoping the Salve Regina community will embrace this opportunity to help those in need."

Those wishing to donate a large amount of items may bring them to Eldridge's office, which is located in room 034 of the Rodgers Recreation Center.
