    NEWPORT, R.I. - Reigning Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's basketball Rookie of the Week Cameron Collins (Oakdale, Conn.) led Salve Regina University to a 71-62 victory over Eastern Nazarene College in the league opener for both schools. Collins scored a career-high 18 points on seven of 10 from the floor, added four free throws, six rebounds and a blocked shot.

    NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University senior guard Rodney Morton (Malden, Mass.) scored 15 of his game-high 26 points in the second half to lead the Seahawks to their first victory of 2017-18, a 64-54 decision over Mount Ida College in non-league men's basketball action at the Rodgers Recreation Center. It was the first-ever meeting between the two schools in men's basketball, and both are now 1-2 overall.
