Men's ice hockey sends eight to all-academic team
NEWPORT, R.I. – Eight players from the Salve Regina University men’s ice hockey team have been selected as members of the 2011-12 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast All-Academic Team as announced by ECAC commissioner Rudy Keeling. The Seahawks were represented on the team by senior Isaiah Carlson, junior Mike Cenisio, sophomore Chase Davis, senior Henry DeSimone, junior William Gomolinski, junior Michael McDonald, sophomore Curtis McKeon, and sophomore Trey Rasmussen.

Seahawks drop season finale to Leopards on Senior Night
PORTSMOUTH, R.I. – Salve Regina University dropped a 5-2 decision to the Wentworth Institute of Technology during an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast contest at the Portsmouth Abbey Ice Rink on Senior Night. The Seahawks end the season with a 6-19-0 overall mark, including a 2-12-0 record during conference play, while the Leopards head into the postseason as the ECAC Northeast’s #1 seed, finishing the year at 18-6-1 (11-2-1 ECAC).

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. – The Salve Regina University men’s hockey team dropped a 6-5 overtime decision to Becker College on Wednesday night at the Portsmouth Abbey Ice Rink. The loss drops the Seahawks to 6-18-0 (2-11-0 ECAC), while the Hawks improve to 9-13-2 (4-8-1 ECAC).

Goodwin earns second rookie of the week award
NEWPORT, R.I. – Salve Regina University freshman Chad Goodwin has been announced as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast Rookie of the Week. This is the second time that Goodwin has earned the award during his freshman campaign.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Freshman goalie Tim Carr compiled 39 saves for his first collegiate win to lead the Western New England men’s hockey team to a 3-1 victory over visiting Salve Regina in an ECAC Northeast contest Saturday evening (Feb. 11) at Smead Arena.

Colonels march past Seahawks
MILTON, Mass. - In an ECAC Northeast Conference match-up, Curry College defeated Salve Regina University, 11-2, in men's ice hockey action on Thursday night in Milton, Mass. The Colonels improved to 12-8-2 overall and 10-1-0 record in the ECAC Northeast, while the Seahawks fell to 5-16-0 overall and 2-9-0 in the ECAC Northeast.

Goodwin's hat trick rallies Seahawks to 5-2 win
PORTSMOUTH, R.I. – Freshman Chad Goodwin scored three times within a five minute span during the third period to snap a 2-2 tie and lead the Salve Regina University men’s ice hockey team to a 5-2 victory over Stonehill College at Portsmouth Abbey Ice Rink on Wednesday night. The Seahawks have won each of their last two contests to improve to 6-15-0 overall, while the Skyhawks fall to 6-11-2 on the season.

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. – Freshman John Scorcia compiled four points, including two goals and a pair of assists, as the Salve Regina University men’s ice hockey team defeated Suffolk University by a score of 6-4 during an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast matchup at Portsmouth Abbey Ice Rink on Saturday night. With the win, the Seahawks improve to 5-15-0 (2-8-0 ECAC NE) on the year, while the Rams dropped their 18th consecutive contest to fall to 2-18-0 (0-10-0 ECAC NE).

The Wildcats improve to 12-6-2 (6-2-1 ECAC) with the win, while the Seahawks fall to 4-15-0 (1-8-0 ECAC).

HARRISVILLE, R.I. – Nichols College picked up its season-high third win in a row with a 6-3 triumph at home over visiting Salve Regina in an ECAC Northeast men’s ice hockey contest Wednesday night at Levy Rink. The Bison improve to 6-11-1 on the season and 4-3-0 in the conference as the Seahawks dip to 4-13 overall and 1-6 in the league.
