Preseason poll predicts fifth-place finish for men's tennis

Men's tennis opens their spring season this Saturday versus Moravian at the Falmouth Sports Center

NEWPORT, R.I. – The results of the 2012 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) preseason poll were announced on Friday, revealing a fifth-place ranking for the Salve Regina University men's tennis team.

The Seahawks are looking to bounce back from a bit of a down year in 2011, during which the team recorded a 5-12 (5-6 CCC) record, snapping a string of 10 consecutive seasons with double-digit victories.

Leading the charge for Salve Regina will be first-year head coach Kevin Pease and top returners Brian Castrichini (Winchester, Mass.), Zachary Rosenfeld (Easton, Conn.), and Aaron Isch (Tolland, Conn.), each of whom played key roles during the team's 2010 CCC Championship.

The men's tennis team will begin its spring season this weekend, playing Moravian College on Saturday, February 18 and Sunday February 19 at the Falmouth Sports Center in Falmouth, Mass. The Sunday match will be streamed live on the team's Ustream.tv channel - http://www.salveathletics.com/sports/mten/livevideo.

The conference opener will be held on Wednesday, March 21 at 3:30 p.m. on the road versus Roger Williams University.
