SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Salve Regina University men's tennis rallied to win the final three singles matches at the Bass River Tennis Club on Saturday, March 31 to defeat Gordon College, 5-4. In that dual match, freshman Mike Gallerani (Fairfield, Conn.) and senior Zachary Rosenfeld (Easton, Conn.) both won in three sets, with Rosenfeld's serving as the clincher.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Rosenfeld helped the Seahawks snap a 10-match losing streak with a victory over CCC foe Gordon for the team's first win of the season. He won his second-consecutive singles match at the number one spot in three sets. Rosenfeld went on to pair up with Aaron Isch (Tolland, Conn.) at the number one slot for the only Seahawk doubles victory against Gordon. The tandem of Isch and Rosenfeld won in an 8-3 set.
Salve Regina (1-10; 1-2 CCC) hosts Nichols College at the Leroy Avenue courts on the Newport campus at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
