NEWPORT, R.I. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Men's Tennis Championship tournament pairings were released on Wednesday, announcing Salve Regina University as the sixth seed. The Seahawks will face #3 Eastern Nazarene in Quincy, Mass. at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
The Seahawks finished the regular season with a 3-5 record during conference play, and head into the post season as winners of two of their last three matches.
The Seahawks have a long history of success in the tournament, advancing to the finals in 18 of the past 21 seasons, while capturing the conference title 15 times.
However, the Seahawks have dropped each of the past two head-to-head meetings with Eastern Nazarene, including a 7-2 loss at home just two weeks ago.
Salve Regina will look to senior Zachary Rosenfeld (Easton, Conn.) and junior Aaron Isch (Tolland, Conn.) to lead them to victory on Saturday. Rosenfeld has manned the No.1 singles slot for the Seahawks all season long, earning four victories. Isch has compiled a team-high 10 singles wins from the No.2 position, including a 6-2 mark during conference play. Rosenfeld and Isch, both captains, team together to form the No.1 doubles pair for Salve Regina. The duo has captured seven wins on the season, including a 5-3 mark versus CCC opponents.
