Seahawks and Lions bumped up to noon start

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Women's Soccer Tournament quarterfinal contest featuring #6 Eastern Nazarene at #3 Salve Regina has been rescheduled to begin at noon due to the threat of inclement weather later in the day.

In addition, the CCC Men's Soccer Tournament contest between #7 Salve Regina at #2 Gordon has also been bumped up to start at noon.

Led by CCC offensive player of the year Kaitlyn Birrell (Hope, R.I.), the Seahawks set a program record with 12 wins during the regular season, compiling a 12-5-1 overall record, including a 6-2-1 mark during conference play. The Lions finished the season at 9-7-2 with a 3-5-1 record in the conference. During their lone meeting this season, the Seahawks defeated the Lions by a score of 6-1, led by two goals and an assist from senior Liz Galla (Beacon Falls, Conn.).

Saturday will mark the 15th all-time meeting between these two programs with the Seahawks winning all 14 previous head-to-head match ups.
