Lauren Wells Parsons enters her first season as the head coach of women's volleyball at Salve Regina University. Parsons was an assistant coach for the Seahawks during the 2011 campaign, helping to guide the team to a program record 16 wins, while also earning its first-ever ECAC Championship tournament berth.
A 2007 graduate of Averett University in Danville, Va., Parsons earned a degree in business marketing. She was a four year member of the volleyball team and team captain. As a setter and libero, she earned All USA South Conference awards (2004,2005,2006), all-tournament team (2004, 2006), and second team all-state (2004).
Parsons won two conference championships with the Cougars (2003, 2006) and made two appearances in the NCAA Tournament in San Antonio, Texas (as a freshman and then a senior). She was an assistant volleyball coach at McDaniel College in Westminster, Md., during the 2008 season.
A member of the Newport Volleyball Club, the Statesville, N.C. native now lives in Newport with her husband, Todd Parsons, who is the offensive coordinator for the Salve Regina football team.

Matty Ferreira begins his first season as assistant women's
volleyball coach in 2012-13.
Originally from Lincoln, R.I., Ferreira served as a three-year
captain for the men's volleyball team at Rivier College. The
Raiders were nationally ranked each of his four seasons.
A two-time All-American, he was selected as his conference's player of the year in 2009. Ferreira finished as a member of Rivier's 1,000-Kill Club while tied for first all-time in school history for blocks.
Currently residing in Newport, R.I., Ferreira competes in the beach volleyball semi-pro circuit in tournaments on the East Coast.
