Ryan named TCCC Runner of the Week

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University freshman Kayley Ryan (Portland, Conn.) has been named The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Ryan posted a 5K time of 19:37 and crossed the tape in 14th place out of 311 runners at the James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State University on Saturday. Her performance anchored the Salve Regina lineup and lifted the Seahawks to a fourth-place team finish - the best among all TCCC competitors.

Her selection marks the second-consecutive week Ryan has garnered Runner of the Week honors. She has also been named Rookie of the Week on two occasions this season.

The Seahawks return to action on Saturday when they compete at the Connecticut College Invitation at Harkness State Park, which features a 6,000m layout. The event is slated to begin at noon.
