Norton named CCC female runner of the week
NEWPORT, R.I. - Senior Caroline Norton (Portland, Conn.) was honored as the Commonwealth Coast Conference female runner of the week, as announced by conference commissioner Gregg Kaye on Tuesday afternoon.
Norton led Salve Regina to a third place finish among a field of 16 teams at the Smith College Invitational last week. She finished 12th out of 181 total runners and her time of 20:55 was the fastest time among all conference runners for any 5K race that entire week.
After battling an injury last year, Norton returns for her senior season as the Seahawks aim to capture the conference championship. Caroline and the Seahawks will run again on Saturday at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational starting at 10:30 p.m.
