Salve Regina scores another first place

WENHAM, Mass. - Salve Regina women's cross country scored 56 points at the Pop Crowell Invitational hosted by Gordon College, giving the Seahawks a share of the team championship with Saint Anselm College. Seahawk senior Caroline Norton (Portland, Conn.) raced ahead of the pack and finished first out of 270 runners with a time of 19:13. It was her second first-place finish in four races this season.

Ema Waldschmidt (Verbank, N.Y.) completed the 5K course in 19:39 for seventh place. Kayley Ryan (Portland, Conn.) came in at 20:01 for an 11th-place finish and four seconds later Alexis Gallipoli (Branford, Conn.) scored a 13th-place finish.

Tri-captain Taylor Rosendale (Grafton, Mass.) crossed the line at 20:13 to post a 24th-place finish. Mallory Goding (Cumberland, Maine) scored 39 points while finishing in 20:36 and Antoinette Galdo (Park Ridge, N.J.) rounded out the Seahawk top seven with a 21:06 time for 56th overall.

Salve Regina races at the James Early Invitational next weekend hosted by Westfield State College.
