Seahawks go the distance at Connecticut College

NEW LONDON, Conn. - Salve Regina University women's cross country tuned up for the longer distance it will run in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championships in two weeks by tackling the 6K course at Connecticut College.

The Seahawks finished 11th out of 17 schools, tying the host school with 325 points.

Senior Caroline Norton (Portland, Conn.) paced the Seahawks with an overall finish of 43 in a time of 23:54. Her performance was over four minutes better than last year and she became only the second Seahawk runner to come under 24:00 on a 6K course (Paige Pallotto ran 23:25 in 2009).
