Julia Decker and
Georgia Costello headed the charge in the Seahawks 4-0 shutout over non conference UMass Dartmouth under the lights at Gaudet Field in midweek action.
The scoring started when
Bella Gannon scored at the 12:25 mark, her first goal of the season and third career goal. Salve nearly converted again in the third quarter following a penalty corner however the shot was deemed too high and was called off. However, this did not deter the Seahawks from netting three in the fourth quarter to solidify the shutout. Costello was Salve Regina's high scorer with two goals.

History: Going into the game all that the Seahawks had won five consecutive games against the Corsairs dating back to the 2016 season. Overall, Salve Regina has a 11-4 record against UMass Dartmouth. When Salve Regina shutout UMD 6-0 last year, Jordyn Pineau, Julia Decker, Shannon Kennedy and Kira Spedden each scored. Decker and Spedden each netted two.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Salve Regina limited the visiting Corsairs to one shot on goal, while the Seahawks fired off 31 of their own.
- The Seahawks had a 15-0 penalty corner advantage.
- Siany Ortez earned her first shutout of the season, after protecting the net for the full 60 minutes.
