NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University freshman Christina Moran (Oceanside, N.Y.) as its Rookie of the Week for women's cross country (Oct. 8-14).
Rookie of the Week - Moran was the top CCC freshman at the Connecticut College Invitational. She finished with a personal best time of 24:09 (38 seconds better than previous best) and earned 110th place of 307 runners in the 6-kilometer race.
"Chrissy continues to impress - and improve - with each race," says Seahawk head coach Rob McGuinness. "I am encouraged to see her race so well against a national-caliber field. In just half a season on the team, Chrissy has already established herself as one of our key contributors. Her future is so bright. I am eager to see what she will do in the postseason meets."
